You turn away from the rain and knock on the large pine door behind you with the well-worn brass knocker. No one answers the door. You wait for a minute and you decide to sit on the porch to wait out the rain. The house doesn’t look abandoned, but you don’t want to risk knocking again just in case you annoy whoever lives here.
You lean your back against one of the two doors and immediately fall backward as the door swings open. Your head hits a shag carpet that’s definitely from the ‘70s at least. You scramble to your feet and begin apologizing for your presence in the house.
No one is there. Spooky.
You determine that the door was old and unlocked. May as well look around for people, or even better, gas.
